What’s your opinion on prohibition?
Now there’s an interesting issue, once we think about it: if prohibition didn’t work for alcohol, why do we expect it would work for anything else? Sometimes I get the feeling that war on drugs brings about *even* more destruction than drugs. This might sound like an awkward thing to say, and by no means do I intend to express an opinion supportive of drugs… but all the while I don’t think prohibiting something ever stopped people from craving it: much the other way around!
In fact, it could be argued that forbidden things only get more alluring and widespread. Just think about what happen during the time of the so-called dry law in the USA… that was probably the times were people drank the most alcoholic beverages! Granted, it’s a complex issue, but one definitely worth discussing. Do you have an opinion on this matter?
