There’s always someone on the Internet who can assist you!

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

When it comes to the Internet, one of the things I like best is how it allows for new business models to emerge. Nowadays, everyone gets a chance to market his skills over the web – thus complementing his entrepreneurship, or making altogether for business platform. This is great for consumers and sellers, since it provides a way for people to either figure out solutions for their problems or make a living from attending to such solutions.

I used to get amazed with the kind of businesses I’d see emerge online, but by now I’m getting quite accustomed. For example, one of my sources pointed out this Transcription service, and I pointed it out to a close friend who could use this kind of service. All I can say is, the guy was pretty happy and seems to me like he’ll become a returning customer.

Personally, I’ve never felt the need for a transcription service, although sometimes I wish I could get a personal secretary to type instead of me. But I guess I’m not rich enough as to indulge that kind of fancy. Oh well, it’s still good knowing that there’s always a professional and price-competitive worker out there on the Internet ready to ready and willing to assist our requirements for all kinds of services!

The television will never die: it doesn’t have to!

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

They used to say that video killed the radio star, and now they’re saying the Internet is about to kill the video star. Well, I say… it’s about time we learn to put together the best of different worlds. Sure, the television is getting progressively reshaped, and the Internet is getting an increasingly prominent role, but still… there will always be occasions when people just like to relax and shut off the brain in silent contemplation – and a television is one of the most pleasant ways of doing so!

This is why there are so many businesses out there who get a Direct TV package to suit their needs! I mean, there are occasions when it makes up for a unique experience! Have you tried watching a football game in a crowded cafe vs. a desolate living room? It’s a world of difference I’m telling you!

ZenniOptical and the whole new world of online business!

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

Today I’m bringing up a topic that, besides being potentially useful, is also a good example of the new kind of business models that have been emerging with the advent of the Internet: the kind of business where a company gets to skip the middle man and save lots of money in advertisement, thus effectively succeeding in selling its product at an extremely competitive price, on that simply wouldn’t be affordable in the traditional markets.

You might have heard about this company called ZenniOptical before, especially since it’s been highly praised in the NY Times… and with good reason, too! You see, ZenniOptical is a 100% online eyeglasses vendor; they sell a wide range of prescription (as well as leisurely) eyewear, and the prices are quite remarkable: the website claims it’s possible to get prescription eyeglasses from $8. Needless to say, that’s a LOT more inexpensive than anything one would hope to find in the traditional brick-and-mortar optometrists.

That, my friends, is the power of the Internet. A lot of businesses might have failed back in the days of the so-called “dot.com crash”, but that’s arguably because the entrepreneurs failed to take advantage of the real strenghts of the on line markets. Besides, back in the day there was only a small fraction of online shoppers, while nowadays there’s a substantial and ever-increasing volume of transactions getting processed over the Internet. And that actually makes perfect sense, once you think about this illustrative example. If you can’t follow this reasoning, maybe you would benefit from getting a new pair of prescription eyewear? Here, I’ve looked up a tasteful model for you; no need for thanks… and welcome to the future, already!

When it’s time to stock up: Is ProfitFuel a wise choice?

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

Well, I know these are supposed to be bad times to think about investments and such. But as I keep telling you, sometimes being sucessfull is all about thinking out of the box. And that implies focusing on opportunities, rather than generalist technicalities. You see… I’ve been getting a lot of hype lately, concerning this company called ProfitFuel; and I’m wondering just how good an investment lead it could be.

If you haven’t heard about it, ProfitFuel is one of the fastest growing privately held companies in America, and it’s stock value is rumoured to be on the verge of taking off… despite all the fuss about global finantial crisis, there are still some businesses that just can’t and won’t stop. Well, judging from my research so far, this sounds like a good lead, but I’m always open to new perspectives, so… anyone interested in sharing an opinion?

Fat people should have a right to feel fashionable!

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

I such a deeply superficial society as our own, life can oftentimes be hard on people with extra weight. Being fat can be very frustrating, specially because one is prone to finding himself separated from the “normality” of life. I remember when I was an obese kid, my mother used to have a lot of trouble finding clothes that I could wear, and I would feel constantly frustrated because I hated all my clothes.

Sometimes I used to think there should be a law enforcing the creation of big clothes for big people, adopting similar styles to the regular clothes everyone else wore. Well… for better and worse this issue has been resolved, by no other than the law of the market. Fortunately nowadays it’s a lot simpler finding plus size clothes, but arguably because there are lots more obese people than back in the day.

In any circumstance, it’s definitely good knowing there are now good-looking clothes available for obese people. I was looking around this website, and there’s quite an array of stylish and trendy garments – not unlike those you’d usually expect to find in any regular old story, only in those XXXsizes. If you’ve ever felt self-conscious about your body weight while shopping, maybe this will help!

Put an end to mailbox vandalism, with mailboss!

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

This is quite unfortunate, but also very true. For one reason or the other, some people lean strongly towards vandalism, and they keep looking for new ways to steal money from hard working people. Recently, many cowardly thugs have been focusing their attention on mailboxes, since it oftentimes provide them access to some way of ripping off your hard-earned cash – either directly (trough a check) or indirectly (through intercepting your SSN or credit card details).

If you’ve ever been a victim of mailbox vandalism and lost important correspondence in the process, there’s no longer need to hate those troublesome teenagers who usually engage such activities. In fact, it looks like you may yet be the one to get the last laugh, once those little thieves get frustrated with your unbreakable new mailboss:

As you see, that’ definitely a tough nut to crack! Can you imagine someone trying to break this open with a baseball bat? That would likely be an hilarious sight; you know, in my opinion they’re making quite the understatement in calling this thing a locking mailbox… it sure looks more like a full-blown safe to me. But obviously it serves a good purpose in protecting your identity and safeguarding your mail. Besides, it must really get quite fun watching vandals trying to mess with this remarkable heavy-duty mailbox. I just wish I could find some real-life footage demonstrating this principle.

Wise investors are always looking for Real Estate opportunities!

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

This is something I keep telling everyone I know: if you’d like to be rich in the future, it’s actually quite simple. There are many paths that lead towards financial success, and all of them invariably revolve around work. Now, there are essentially two kinds of working I know about: working hard and working smart. If you plan to work hard to become affluent, that’s okay… but you might as well think about working smart, since that usually involves a lot less time and effort.

Working smart is all about keeping an eye out for opportunities and acting immediately when you recognize one. For example, nowadays there’s a lot of talk about a real estate crisis (along with a host of other financial crises)… but if you ask me that’s actually a gross lack of perspective. True, many people aren’t keeping up with their mortgage payments and they’re losing their homes… but sometimes what strikes someone as a crisis can turn out being an opportunity for others. If there’s a good time to buy a house low, this is the time… and naturally house prices will eventually go up, taking your profits on a vertical upwards ride.

If you’re looking for some of the best opportunities in Real Estate, heres are some good places to get started: Real Estate in the Texas Hill Country, or maybe some Boerne Real Estate; also perhaps getting some Hill Country homes wouldn’t be such a bad idea. The trick to making it big in the real estate markets is finding houses that are currently extremely underpriced, and in a good location. If you have some money to invest and you make the right moves, you’ll be dirty rich in no time!
