Fresh picked fruit, my little guilty pleasure!

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

Today is a wonderful day, it’s really starting to feel like summer time is just ahead. I rather enjoy when weather starts shifting for the best, bringing along a bunch of sunny little tidbits that make life so more enjoyable. Such as T-shirts, chirping birds, landscape flowers and (one of my personal favorites) fruit! You see, I have a rather unique relationship with fruit – I think – in that I eat most of my fruit when the weather starts warming up. When it’s cold, I’m usually not much drawn towards eating fruit, but around this time of the year… it’s a different matter entirely. Just now I was going around this sun orchard website and I’m getting the urge to just take the afternoon off and drive out to an actual orchard.

Granted, that’s not very practical indeed (especially since I have lots of work to clear up today), but I rather enjoy the sensation of eating freshly picked fruit. Although truth of the matter, sometimes a good sun orchard company can provide the next best thing when it comes to freshness, but in my opinion there’s nothing quite like picking a ripe juicy piece of fruit from its respective tree and eating it right away. Oh well, I guess I’ll have to wait until the weekend before going out and indulging this little guilty pleasure. Yeah, I know picking up fruit from other people’s trees is a little naughty, but I usually try not to over do it.

Better than credit: prepaid VISA cards!

Friday, April 24th, 2009

This is something we might as well face up to, as adults: There are many evils on this earth, and from all the evils, money is possibly one of the worst. Regardless, money is a necessary evil, and we should learn how to deal with it. If fact if you ask me, borrowed money is actually the worst possible kind of evil… and if you suppose I’m over-reacting, just think about the news about the thousands of people who are getting their lifes ruined and their homes foreclosed for mis-handling their credit cars and basically … spending way too much they could possibly afford.

If you agree with this kind of reasoning, you might be happy to know about this concept: Visa Debit card. This works like a credit card, but it’s actually pre-paid. What’s the advante, you might wonder? Well, that’s something you’d easily relate with, if you’ve ever wondered about the money left in your checking account, of if your lack of fund ever forced you to resort to credit; plus… have you heard about NSF (none sufficient funds) bank fees? That means sometimes banks will charge you from running out of money. How ridicule is that?

Well, the good thing about these pre-praid cards is that they work like a stand-alone bank account… minus the account. You simply load your money into the card, and you can use it just like a regular credit card: the main difference being you’re not actually borrowing money, and you don’t have to pay the ridiculous fees most banks seem to take pleasure in charging customers these days. If you’re intrigued with this concept, make sure to check out this website for more information.

Webmaster caution: choose web host wisely!

Friday, April 24th, 2009

Quite often, inexperience is likely to bring about unfortunate results. That’s something that happened to me about a year ago when I started making websites and I decided I might as well get and appropriate webhost (if you don’t know, that’s the place you store your website’s contents). Well, as it turned out, I made an uniformed and rash decision and it didn’t take long before I’d regret doing so. But since I’d already paid for a year in advance, I figured I’d just put up with the unreliable service and make sure next time I’d make a better decision.

So right now, as the time approaches to choose a new webhost, and since I want to make sure I choose a good one this time around – preferrably one that’s not too expensive, I was quite happy to learn about this concept: web hosting reviews! Quite simple, it’s a kind of website that specializes in informing webmasters about the best web hosting companies available on the market. As you might notice from checking the website, there’s plently of information concerning several companies, and encompassing several technicalities most novice webmasters are unlikely to be familiar with. If you’re planning about making the big move (getting your own host, that is), make sure to spend some time reading those reviews, that way you’re most likely not to regret your choice.

I’m going to tell you a little hairy secret…

Friday, April 24th, 2009

There are so many things in life, where balance is key to happiness. Let’s take hair, for example: most people aren’t happy with too little hair (i.e. baldness), but all the while most people aren’t happy with too much hair (i.e. back, buttocks, etc). And unfortunately, it seems nature is oftentimes nature is keen on playing tricks on us concerning our capilar balance. Oh well, quite fortunately though, science has come to the rescue! You see, personally I’ll have to admit I’m in the over-capilar variety, and this is something I wish I wasn’t uncomfortable with – especially because I feel it’s important to accept our bodies just as they are. But what can I say, it’s really not easy coming to terms with the idea of misplaced hair running across my body.

Well, I suppose I should go straight to the point. I’ve been researching a good laser hair removal ny clinic, and this one seems to be highly recommended by many people across the Internet. I’m a little ashamed for indulging this kind of aestethic trifle, but regardless I think it’s better than being ashamed of my excessive hair. So I’ve decided to sign up for a treament! And I was wondering if any of you has had experience with this kind of thing. If so, your comments will be highly appreciated, so please type up.

Alice in Wonderland: one of the greatest children’s books ever!

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

If you enjoy reading books with your children, this is a story you should keep on top of your list. In fact, even if you don’t have children, this is still a story you should be reading! Alice in Wonderland is one of the greatest classics of modern literature which is suitable for all ages. It includes an imaginative story, amazing characters and the most unlikely settings. You probably know what the story is about from one of the many adaptations (including the popular Disney movie), but it’s always best going back to the roots and checking the original.

Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland” was one of my favorite books when I was a child, and it still remains one of my favorite stories. I really like the way it explores the borderlines between dream and reality, imagination and delirium. Sometimes when I’m drifting off to sleep, I wonder what it would be like to experience such a remarkable dream as the one lives through in this book… i mean, that’s if you choose believing it was a dream! Maybe reality is the greatest dream there is, after all.

With great freedom comes great responsibility!

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Freedom is a wonderful thing – provided it’s balanced with responsibility. While being free to make our own choices is doubtlessly a good thing, we should make sure our choices don’t interfere with our well-being. On the other hand, freedom coupled with awareness can oftentimes positively influence our lifestyle. For example, nowadays it’s possible to buy a number of pharmaceuticals over the Internet – and many people will tell you that’s a terrible thing, out of which nothing good could possibly surface. Well, personally I think otherwise; as long as you know what you’re doing, there are some occasions where you’ll get to save quite a bit of money by taking advantage of the online health products vendors.

Let’s suppose you’re looking for a fertility drug, or maybe a product to prevent hair loss – or something as simple as acne treatment. First things first, you should of course consult with your doctor; he’ll probably prescribe a certain drug, and if you’re wise you’ll ask for the generic equivalent of that drug. So, let’s suppose you want to buy Accutane, for example; now, if you’re a clever shoppeer you won’t rush to the pharmacy to buy that generic drug; sometimes it pays off to make a little online research. There are a number of websites specializing in the sale of medications such as generic Clomid or Propecia; quite often you’ll find a better deal than in a standard pharmacy, and just as long as you know what you’re doing (i.e. you’ve consulted with your doctor and you’re purchasing the drug he prescribed), it should keep you safe! As you see, sometimes freedom can bring along some nice savings, just as long as you know how.

A little lesson in cat-gastronomy?

I know I’m supposed to provide with with informative posts and all that, but it’s weekend so I figured it would be okay to get some lighthearted videos – besides, there’s much to learn from animals, if only we can listen! For example, this kittie has developed a special technique to teach its owners how to recognize it’s hungry… and apparently it works, too! Just goes to show there are some clever animals out there which many things to teach.

Standing up? Looks like you’re about to fold.

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Sometimes, doesn’t it feel like you’ve been working too hard? Lately I’ve been feeling as though my daily routine is getting so rough, I wish I could carry around one of those folding chairs to be able to just sit in a peaceful corner and remain undisturbed for a couple of minutes, every once in a while. You know, I really miss the time when I was younger and I could just sit in the floor without worrying about getting my suit dirty… but well, that’s just how life works, right? Quite often it’s all about compromise, the way we have to let go of certain things in order to get other things. I might not be able to sit anywhere I want or anytime I want to, and it might not be practical to carry a folding chair in my back pocket – however working hard provides me with a number of benefits, such as being able to purchase folding chairs and folding tables much to my heart’s contentment.

Speaking of which, I’ve been getting hyped in anticipation for those early spring little pic-nic getaways I so enjoy. When the weather starts getting warmer, I like picking up some take-away food and making a little getaway in the woods. Fortunately, I don’t live too far from the countryside, so a couple of hours are sufficient to enjoy an amazing lunch break. In short, this is why I think it’s a good idea to carry around a set of folding table + chairs in my car trunk. Some people seem to think that’s a little eccentric, but then again that’s only until I invite them to come along in one of my getaways. In fact, this is how I tend to get some relief from the daily grind… whenever possible I just drive out of the city (or into a quiet park somewhere), even if there’s only enough time to sit around for half hour, or so. You should try this little therapy, it will work wonderfully in raising your spirits.

If you really like golf, then Practice like a pro!

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

Ah… when it comes to sports that bridge the gap between strength and elegance, grace and cleverness, I don’t think there’s nothing quite like golf. I was reading about this golf mental coach, and it really got me thinking… there are so many dimensions to this sport, so much lurking under the surface, that it’s really no wonder that not everyone really gets what this sport is all about.

When it comes to mental strategy, golf is perhaps second only to chess. However, chess players don’t usually play during beautiful walks on the outdoors along with their family, friends and business connections… not like gold players do. There’s something unique about a golf course that just provides for uniquely pleasant sportsmanship and entertainment. Being good at this game takes a unique blend of luck and skill, and while you can’t exercise your luck, there are strategies you can follow to drastically improve your skills.

Going maternal? Get some clothes, already!

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

Pregancy is a delicate stage in a woman’s life, and we all know how delicate women can get sometimes. If you want to keep out of trouble, pay close attention: there’s something you should never tell your pregnant wife, and that’s related with maternity clothes.

When prompted if you think your wife should get new clothes to suit her new motherly figure, you should always say “most definitely, yes”. If you ever even remotely suggest that she would just settle into using her usual clothes, trust me… you’ll be in a whole lot of trouble, for a number of reasons I won’t even get into. Trust me, if your pregnant wife is looking for new outfits, just show her this website and try to be as supportive as possible.
