Snail mail is not dead! Long live the mailing list!

Friday, May 29th, 2009

Nowadays many people are getting focused on the new media of communication, especially the internet. While this is definitely a good thing, I cannot help but thinking that new opportunies are getting open on the old media. For example, anyone can create a simple mailing list via e-mail, right? But on the other hand, there are progressively less people who bother to even check such mailings. Conversely, the traditional snail-mail type of mailing list is now turning somewhat obsolete, and you know what? In my opinion, that means it’s the best time to put some money in direct marketing.

If you’re running a home business, you should think about putting forth some prospects and brochures and sending them to all your contacts. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprise with positive the return on investment this kind of strategy can provide!

Feeling blue? Sometimes the right fragrance might help.

Friday, May 29th, 2009

To be honest? Today I feel like crap. Even though it’s a wonderfull sunny day, I feel a little sad – and the worst thing about it is that I don’t even understand why. Sometimes it’s just like that, a matter of feeling I suppose. Sometimes when I get this mood, I try to mend it by getting myself a little gift. For example, right now I’m looking for designer perfumes, since in my mind it makes sense that a nice fragrance might cheer me up. I not this whole reasoning is somewhat futile, but all the while I suppose there’s nothing wrong with a little indulging.

Besides, I was actually running out of good perfume, so it’s not like I’m just wasting away money to cover up a whole in my chest. Damn… now I feel as though I’m rationalizing and making excuses for myself, here. You know, being human sometimes is complicated beyond words. I suppose I’ll just try to be quiet and try to sit the gloomy feelings out; although sometimes getting distracted sure seems to help.

Franchising as a public goldmine? I want some of that!

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

Sometimes I have a hard time telling ambition apart from plain greed. You see, lately I’ve been indulging daydreams in the lines of creating a successful franchise type of business which would allow me to just sit back when all is over and done with, and get some extra funds to take the best out of life. Well, actually it’s not just about the money, but the prospect of making money… but like I said, sometimes I have a hard time telling ambition from greed, even though I enjoy believing in my good intentions, same as everyone else.

Well, like anything else that’s worth doing, creating a franchising model takes a lot of hard work, determination and research. So right now I’m focusing on the latter, before I commit myself to really rolling up my sleeves on this one. While researching for different franchising models, I soon got overwhelmed with the huge panoply of such models. There are all kinds of franchising available, just waiting for anyone who wants to take some of their action; Fortunately though, there’s nothing quite like what I have in mind – which of course I won’t discuss openly just yet – so I guess that’s good news!

If you think your Mother doesn’t want flowers… think again!

Monday, May 4th, 2009

With less than a week until Mother’s Day 2009, and keeping in mind that we all have mothers – living or otherwise – it ocurred to me it might be a good idea to discuss the issies of mothers and flowers. In more than one occasion, I’ve been witness to the selfless kind of mothers who will vehemently profess to have no interest in receiving flowers or any kind of present, for mother’s day.

Truth of the matter is that I really don’t believe in that, although I do believe that’s something that comes with motherhood. You see, when a woman becomes a mother, she will usually place most of her attention and focus on her children, quite often neglecting her own well-being. Well, to make a long story short, I’m just trying to tell you… the next 10th of May, don’t forget to send your mother’s day flower – despite what your mother may have said about this issue, in the past.

All women like flowers… that’s granted – but for a mother, receiving flowers from her child is nothing short of exhilariating. This is why I mean you should send your mother some flowers – even if you’re not fortunate enough that your mother is still alive. You may not believe it but I do, and it will make a difference.
