Dream vacations? Not as expensive as it may sound!
This is probably one of the unexpectedly pleasant side-effects of the on-going worldwide economic crisis we’re living through: it’s now possible to get things that would usually be too expensive, at a price that has deflated towards reasonably expensive. I think one of the best demonstrations of this principle one could hope to find is related to the travel industry; and it actually makes sense, if you think about it: given the widespread recession, one of the things most people are likely to cut back is luxury travels… which equates with the notion that such travels will tend to be less expensive.
I had already thought about that before, but just now I got my confirmation from browsing around the Accor Hotels website. I remember a few years ago I wanted to say in one of these hotels in Singapore, but the price was too heavy. Well, just now I was checking it online and it actually seems very reasonable. Besides, I found out that on-line bookings which get processed between 23-29 this month – for stays between July 10 and September 30 – will get discounts up to %60! In other words, that’s a dream vacation abroad for as little as (or perhaps even less money than) a vacation in one of the tried and true vacationing places in the U.S. of A. This just goes to show that every coin has two side, and even the recession can sometimes bring about positive side effects.
