The Thriller SwanSong: RIP Michael Jackson
It’s always a little shocking, to see cultural icons disappear – isn’t it? Arguably even more so, in an era such as our own, when it seems as though genuine icons are getting progressively scarcer. When I first heard Michael Jackson had died, the first thing I could think of was “wow, that’s huge”. There aren’t that many guys left alive, who distincly carved their image in our public mindsets like Michael Jackson did.
I think that in our modern days, there will unlikely be anyone like the now-deceased King of Pop, even though I’ve read somewhere that he used to say his younger sound Prince Michael II would someday take his place as the next King. Actually, I’ll be quite happy if such thing happens, but for now… best we can do is hold on to the dear memories, and let go of those that aren’t so important. Wherever you are, MJ… I honestly hope you find the peace you seem to need so desperately in life.
