Change Your Beliefs and Lose Weight
I understand that feeling. It is very frustrating when you embark on a diet plan with a lot of enthusiasm, but discover yourself going back to your former eating habits within few days.
You were really determined this time to complete the 100 days of keeping up with the diet program. You were desperate to lose weight fast. But alas, after just a few days into the program you find your motivation vaning.
When this happens a couple of times, you will develop a belief that you just don’t have the discipline to follow any weight loss or diet plan for a sufficient amount of days to see any noticeable results.
What should be done now?
You will begin to wonder how to overcome this problem. A new diet plan looks promising and you want to try it out. But deep down there is this nagging fear that this will again end up like your previous failures.
You are sure that you will give up just halfway into the program or probably much earlier than that. You will remember the previous times you did so and will convince yourself that this time too the old story is going to repeat itself.
You don’t want to give another try
Because you are so sure that you will not be able to keep up with any weight loss plan, you will stop attempting to go on any weight loss plan from now on.
After a couple of earlier failures, you have now developed this belief that might prevent you from making another serious attempt at losing weight.
You wouldn’t want to be disappointed again. What is the use of embarking on a new weight loss program when you are going to fail anyhow? You will start telling yourself this thing again and again.
How to get out of this?
You need to improve your thinking if you wish to succeed at weight loss. You have to avoid remembering previous failures again and again.
This sort of thinking will seriously impact how you approach weight loss. You will lose the courage to try again.
You definitely need to get out of this destructive thinking pattern. From now on whenver you catch yourself thinking about past failures, stop yourself right there.
Stop yourself from dwelling on past failures and tell yourself that you have now changed. Gently remind yourself that you used to be like that but now you have changed a lot. Say to yourself that you can now follow and complete any healthy weight loss plan easily.
Your beliefs may start changing after a lot of such repititions. Initially you may not fully believe that you really changed, but repeatedly saying this to yourself for a number of days should have some kind of an effect on your mentality.
Once you develop strong belief that you can follow any rapid weightloss program, then your whole behavior might change for the better.
Infact you may be surprised at how easily you are now able to stick to any diet plan. Eventually, you may end up losing a lot of weight – probably a lot more than your own expectations.
Our beliefs can have such a strong effect on our habits and actions. Positive beliefs can lead to positive action, which inturn can lead to healthy and rapid weightloss.
