Today I had lunch with my teenage niece, whom I hadn’t seen in a long while. It was a pleasant meal, and it certainly was nice hearing about her latest achievements and hopes; I was very impressed with how much she had grown (and how fast! Sometimes I seem to get a little sidetracked in the flow of time), but that’s not the thing that popped to mind with most prominence. You see, my niece is a very beautiful teenager, but she suffers from a problem that’s very common in people her age: acne. And when I use the term “suffer” here, you should trust that’s by no means an overstatement. Really. When I first met her at the restaurant, I could barely tell recognize her behind the massive craters of pus that she unwillingly wore in her face. Fortunately though, we have a friendly relationship – so I felt comfortable talking directly about her pimple troubles… after all that’s the kind of thing that can be easily fixed, with a little know-how.
There’s one thing I do remember about acne treatment, back from my own teenage years when I faced the same problem: you should never pop zits; in fact you should really avoid touching your face at all, because that will only make the infection spread. This kind of precaution will get you half-hay towards a pimple-free face, and to get completely clear off acneville, it just takes some good acne products, some CLEAN cloths and maybe some acne moisturizer. It’s as simple as that! If you have a teenager in your family who suffers from this problem, you should really think about putting forth some word of advice, since acne can easily become a traumatizing problem – which is quite a shame, since it can be easily tackled, with the right kind of guidance and support.
