Feeling blue? Sometimes the right fragrance might help.

Friday, May 29th, 2009

To be honest? Today I feel like crap. Even though it’s a wonderfull sunny day, I feel a little sad – and the worst thing about it is that I don’t even understand why. Sometimes it’s just like that, a matter of feeling I suppose. Sometimes when I get this mood, I try to mend it by getting myself a little gift. For example, right now I’m looking for designer perfumes, since in my mind it makes sense that a nice fragrance might cheer me up. I not this whole reasoning is somewhat futile, but all the while I suppose there’s nothing wrong with a little indulging.

Besides, I was actually running out of good perfume, so it’s not like I’m just wasting away money to cover up a whole in my chest. Damn… now I feel as though I’m rationalizing and making excuses for myself, here. You know, being human sometimes is complicated beyond words. I suppose I’ll just try to be quiet and try to sit the gloomy feelings out; although sometimes getting distracted sure seems to help.

Custom embroidered garments? Just click here!

Friday, March 6th, 2009

These days, I keep getting the feeling that all kinds of tasks can be accomplished over the Internet. Not only that, many tasks can be accomplished more effectively, and oftentimes at a low cost. For example, the earlier today I was driving around town looking for a good place to order custom apparel for an upcoming dinner party with people back from my high-school days. After wandering around half of the city I managed nothing but get progressively annoyed with traffic and rude people, until finally this brilliant thought occurred.

I just pulled my car, picked up my laptop from the back seat, plugged into my mobile internet… and voila! After two minutes worth of research, I had found this new website specializing in embroidered shirts. That’s even better than my original plan of just having a sticker steam-pressed in some black shirt. I had no idea customer embroidering was available online, and as in turns out I this website is remarkably user-friendly. It’s as simple as picking a product (there are lots of swag available such as hats, t-shirts, hoodies and anything you can think of), choosing or editing your own design, and placing the order!

If you’re ever looking for a inexpensive and attractive way of promoting your website or business, you should really try it out. If all goes well with my current order, I might just get some t-shirts with this website’s brand to comemmorate the first anniversary! If you’ve ever used this service, feel free to make a review via comment.

There’s always someone on the Internet who can assist you!

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

When it comes to the Internet, one of the things I like best is how it allows for new business models to emerge. Nowadays, everyone gets a chance to market his skills over the web – thus complementing his entrepreneurship, or making altogether for business platform. This is great for consumers and sellers, since it provides a way for people to either figure out solutions for their problems or make a living from attending to such solutions.

I used to get amazed with the kind of businesses I’d see emerge online, but by now I’m getting quite accustomed. For example, one of my sources pointed out this Transcription service, and I pointed it out to a close friend who could use this kind of service. All I can say is, the guy was pretty happy and seems to me like he’ll become a returning customer.

Personally, I’ve never felt the need for a transcription service, although sometimes I wish I could get a personal secretary to type instead of me. But I guess I’m not rich enough as to indulge that kind of fancy. Oh well, it’s still good knowing that there’s always a professional and price-competitive worker out there on the Internet ready to ready and willing to assist our requirements for all kinds of services!

Wise investors are always looking for Real Estate opportunities!

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

This is something I keep telling everyone I know: if you’d like to be rich in the future, it’s actually quite simple. There are many paths that lead towards financial success, and all of them invariably revolve around work. Now, there are essentially two kinds of working I know about: working hard and working smart. If you plan to work hard to become affluent, that’s okay… but you might as well think about working smart, since that usually involves a lot less time and effort.

Working smart is all about keeping an eye out for opportunities and acting immediately when you recognize one. For example, nowadays there’s a lot of talk about a real estate crisis (along with a host of other financial crises)… but if you ask me that’s actually a gross lack of perspective. True, many people aren’t keeping up with their mortgage payments and they’re losing their homes… but sometimes what strikes someone as a crisis can turn out being an opportunity for others. If there’s a good time to buy a house low, this is the time… and naturally house prices will eventually go up, taking your profits on a vertical upwards ride.

If you’re looking for some of the best opportunities in Real Estate, heres are some good places to get started: Real Estate in the Texas Hill Country, or maybe some Boerne Real Estate; also perhaps getting some Hill Country homes wouldn’t be such a bad idea. The trick to making it big in the real estate markets is finding houses that are currently extremely underpriced, and in a good location. If you have some money to invest and you make the right moves, you’ll be dirty rich in no time!

How about the new trend in Oriental Weddings?

Sunday, February 15th, 2009

Nowadays, just getting married isn’t enough. Long gone are the days when a couple would be happy to just hold a standard ceremony in a standard church. In the fast paced consumerist society we live in, people are always looking for unique and exciting experiences. This is something that ultimately gets reflected in all areas of life, including weddings. For example, did you know that certain Chinese Wedding Traditions are getting increasingly popular in our western culture? There are progressively more people who look for an Auspicious Wedding Date to make sure the happiest day of their lives something that everyone will remember.

If you’re looking forward to bring that oriental twist to your wedding ceremony, you should take a look at these Wedding Invitations, for starters. Looks good, doesn’t it? There are actually websites out there on the Internet specializing on Oriental Weddings, so if you’re intrigued with this concept, just click through and check it out. I’m not planning on organizing a wedding soon enough, but I must admit the idea of getting a uniquely flavored party sure seems appealing. Have you ever been to an Oriental wedding? Let us know what you think about this trend.

The wheel, a primordial product design?

Saturday, February 14th, 2009

Way back in the stone age, just as man was yet starting to climb down from trees and walk on its rear legs, something wonderful happened. Something unprecedented, an amazing innovation took place which was meant to change the course of our civilization, and lead on towards a huge diversity of astounding innovations. Back in the day, both our vocabulary and product design development skills were still quite limited, but over time, this amazing invention would simply be known as … the wheel. (And the rest, as they say… is history)

the_wheel

When you think about it, those guys who first invented the wheel must have been the original product designers, and the wheel itself still stands as a prime example of the usefulness and development that can be attained from a new product design. Nowadays, this is something that most business people have clearly realized: in such crowded modern markets as our own, a product needs to stand out and offer some kind of a unique advantage over its competitors.

In fact, we’ve reached a point where the packaging and design of a product is oftentimes more important than the product itself. Well, you can think of that as a terrible by-product of our shallow consumerist society, OR you can simply use that to your advantage, by getting support from a good product designer to help your business get that extra edge. And while there’s no point in trying to reinvent the wheel, there’s much we can learn from going back to this primordal example of product design that clearly redefined the path of human progress.

Michael Phelps caught with Bong? So what?

eight times olympic medalist... and pot smoker!

eight times olympic medalist... and pot smoker!

Today a picture surfaced across the Internet that’s causing much unrest and controversy… much ado about nothing, if you ask me. The picture (which you can see up there), shows what looks like Michael Phelps (eight times Olympic medalist) using a bong (that’s a kind of weed-smoking apparatus. Apparently, many people have become outraged for learning their olympic hero is actually a pothead; well, as far as I can see this picture is actually of little consequence. Why?

First and foremost, it could be someone who just looks like Michael Phelps. Second, that bong isn’t lit and there’s no smoke in sight, meaning that – even if that’s actually Michael Phelps, there’s no clear proof that he’s using drugs… he might just be playing around with that. Finally, even if he was using pot, let’s face it: maybe it’s about time we grow up and learn to get some perspective on the war on drugs? Maybe it’s about time we stop beliving in the irracional manipulation we’ve all be subject to in the past decades, concerning the horrible dangers of marijuana? I mean, I’m not even a user, and still I get the feeling this “drug” has been consistently used as a scapegoat by the powers that be.

Obama fails oath, maybe will no longer be president?

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

If there’s something that I hate more than a sore loser is a cynical sore loser. Can you believe this? Those guys over at FOX actually questioned Obama’s right to the presidency, allegedly because there was a mistake during the oath. Well, needless to say Obama had obviously memorized the presidential oath (I mean, he didn’t seem to have had any trouble memorizing the lenghty articulate speech that ensued, right?); but all the while he was expected to repeat the words spoken by Chief Justice John Roberts, who effectively engaged a little flub in there. Well, it goes without saying that those Republicans are only putting themselves to (further) shame, by nitpicking on such a lopsided technicality.

What’s your opinion on prohibition?

Saturday, January 3rd, 2009

Now there’s an interesting issue, once we think about it: if prohibition didn’t work for alcohol, why do we expect it would work for anything else? Sometimes I get the feeling that war on drugs brings about *even* more destruction than drugs. This might sound like an awkward thing to say, and by no means do I intend to express an opinion supportive of drugs… but all the while I don’t think prohibiting something ever stopped people from craving it: much the other way around!

In fact, it could be argued that forbidden things only get more alluring and widespread. Just think about what happen during the time of the so-called dry law in the USA… that was probably the times were people drank the most alcoholic beverages! Granted, it’s a complex issue, but one definitely worth discussing. Do you have an opinion on this matter?
